My name is Chloe Beatty, and I’m a dog musher originally from Minnesota, now living in Alaska and chasing a dream I’ve had since I was a little girl: racing the Iditarod.

Growing up, my twin sister and I shared two big dreams; becoming veterinarians and running the Iditarod. As we got older, we realized both paths required an incredible amount of dedication, and it’s pretty special that this year we are each getting closer to those childhood dreams. My sister is pursuing veterinary school, and after years of training, my dogs and I are preparing to take on our first Iditarod.

My journey hasn’t always followed the path I imagined. Before fully dedicating myself to sled dogs, I chased another dream: college gymnastics (with my twin sister of course). I spent years working toward that goal, but two major injuries during my college career ultimately ended my time in the sport. While losing gymnastics was one of the hardest challenges I’ve faced, it led me back to the passion that had always been a part of my life; Sled dogs.

Those setbacks gave me the chance to rediscover my love for mushing and reignite the dream I had carried since childhood. What started as a love for these incredible athletes has grown into a life built around training, adventure, and sharing the world of sled dogs with others.

Getting to this point has taken years of hard work, countless miles on the trail, and the support of my family and my incredible team of dogs. They are the heart of this journey; their determination, grit, and enthusiasm are what keep me moving forward every day.

This journey is about more than a race. It’s about resilience, chasing the dreams that refuse to leave you, and proving that sometimes the unexpected turns in life lead you exactly where you’re meant to be.
